Know what is covered.
And who stands behind it.
Your roofing materials and the work to install them may have different warranties. Ask for both in writing.
Two different kinds of protection.
Manufacturer warranty
This covers eligible roofing products under the manufacturer’s written terms. Coverage, exclusions, registration, and transfer requirements depend on the product and warranty.
Workmanship warranty
This concerns installation work. Four Star’s current website advertises a seven-year workmanship warranty. Ask for the current terms, exclusions, and eligibility for your specific project.
Enhanced GAF options
GAF lists Four Star as a Master Elite contractor. This status allows access to enhanced warranties on qualifying systems, subject to GAF’s requirements. Certification alone does not mean every project automatically receives an enhanced warranty.
Before you sign, ask:
- What is the exact name of each warranty?
- Who is responsible for the materials and who for the installation?
- Which products and installation requirements apply?
- What registration, maintenance, and transfer conditions apply?
- What is excluded, and whom should I call if there is a problem?
