After a storm

Take a breath.
Start with a safe look.

You don’t need to climb onto a roof to take the first steps after possible storm damage.

What to do next

  1. Stay on the ground.Keep clear of fallen power lines, unstable trees, and visibly damaged structures. Leave roof access to a professional.
  2. Record what you can safely see.Take photographs of visible property damage from a safe location. Note when you noticed it and which areas of your home are affected.
  3. Request a roofing assessment.Describe visible issues and ask about arranging an inspection. Not every roof problem can be identified from the ground.
  4. Review the findings.Ask what needs repair, what can be monitored, and what scope is recommended. Keep a copy of the written estimate for your records.

Questions about insurance?

Contact your insurer for questions about your policy and its claim process. An inspection or estimate is not a coverage decision.

Four Star’s role in this concept is roofing assessment and repair. No claim negotiation, policy interpretation, or coverage guarantee is offered here.
